Beauty: from Mother Nature to Fibonacci

“Beauty is truth’s smile, when she beholds her own face in a perfect mirror.”

Rabindranath Tagore

A perfect mirror is the one that gives a true reflection without any modifications. A true reflection is not just the physical attributes but our complete personality, and such an image can only be held by those around us. Thus the ones who love and care for us – are the Perfect Mirror.

Another famous saying – Beauty is in the eyes of the Beholder – also reinstates the role of a beholder – those around us.

Truth – is our natural state of being, in sync with our surroundings and the inner self. And the Smile is nothing but the acknowledgement of this balance.

Ever wondered why we can’t find a single fault in a sunrise or sunset, even an eclipse or a volcano looks magnificent in its own way.

The birds, the flowers or even a bug sitting on the flower only adds to its beauty. They never look strange or out of shape, why? Because they are in sync with nature, aligned with the balance that prevails around us.

They might not even know the beauty they hold, telling us that being beautiful is not their objective, it’s just an attribute of being in sync with mother Nature.

Therefore, any attempts to look beautiful from the outside – be it face or body, with a havoc inside will never work out – its temporary and hollow, like an illusion.

Since beauty is a reflection of who we are – if we are joyous, giving, calm, and nurturing on the inside – living the attributes of Nature itself – we become one with her; and anything that is a part of nature becomes beautiful.

Beauty is balance.

It can be defined by Fibonacci as the Golden ratio or by Da Vinci as the Vitruvian Man, it’s all about the balance. The other beings achieve it without knowing the calculation, and so can we.

The question is – if being beautiful is our destination and why? because beauty is not a feeling that we enjoy, what we enjoy is the praise it gathers. Being healthy is important, feeling fresh is good, and the twinkle in our smiling eyes is a true joy.

This joy and happiness is what we should strive for, and we will be happy to help you with tips from the ancient science of Ayurveda and Yogin in the coming articles in our beauty section.

Until then, breathe in… breath out…
